Speaking at the commemoration of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Gov. Gen. Louise Arbour praised the people of Gander for showing 'compassion, generosity and solidarity' to thousands of U.S. and international airline passengers who were diverted to the town's airport 25 years ago.
